Like The Sun… I’ll Always Be There

I’m the rain that came and left.
You’re the garden pretending not to thirst.

Nothing grows the same
Where footsteps have trodden so deep

The wind carries my name
Through breezes and willow branches dancing
You hear it calling me
But you turn your head, denying it

The separation of rain is not a drought
But a storm is brewing for the future

Two rivers connecting later
Temporarily separated

Stars in the same constellation
But lifetimes spent apart
Darkness connecting them
Shining bright together

Lyrics in songs scream memories
Moments
My name
Places
Unfinished conversations
Spilling emotions

In crowded rooms
One instance
The memory of me
Flooding the thoughts
Of what was
And what could be

Like a steady rhythm of a heartbeat
The syllables of my name haunt life

The ghost of me appears through the window
You see it and refuse to acknowledge it

In the distance, I watch
And realize you’re the one who died
When my lifeline disappeared

I sit at the place, Abandoned
Watching the first settling slowly
And still seeing your footprints left behind

Regret has become your shadow
Following you at every false light
Only in the dark are you free
Because I’m still the brightest star

Howling wind screaming to let go
But my name echoes in the thunder
Leaving seemed to be safe
But storms shift and strengthen
Only when the atmosphere settles
Well, the light returns

Sun.

Surviving through the heat.
Returning after nightfall.
A star in the dark.
Needed for life.

You can block it out by choice
Blackout curtains
Blinds
Sunglasses
Hats

But I’m always there
A reminder of what you need
What is necessary
What brought you light
Warmth
And life

But I won’t burn you
I’d rather burn out
Than to pain you
Scar you

Enjoy my light from a distance
The small reminders that I’m needed
But hide away to protect yourself

I’ll always be there

What Night Gave Me

Night screams terrors in my head
of the monsters that came to destroy me
terrorizing me to leave me hanging by a thread
never realizing the impact Night had on me for eternity

vast ruminating memories of isolation
surrounded by Night, but not embraced
waiting for me to give up in resignation
Night left behind and waiting to be chased

little did it know, despite the darkness looming
was going to bring me strength that was unimaginable
and now Night is the one all-consuming
thinking of how I am unbreakable

the sounds and visions of nightmares past
come creeping up, whispering delusions in my mind
trying to paint such a dark overcast
as I choose to ignore and play blind

Night reminds me of its supernatural vision
as I wander through the unknowns, begging for clarity
only when I’m at a breaking point, I make the incision
to give myself the life of polarity

Night is the epitome of the unknown
unable to navigate through the continuous maze
trying to take over the feeling of home
as I overtake the throne in a new phase

no longer hidden, the Night collapses
no longer alone, but no one is needed
Night tries to enter again in relapses
and soon Night will have conceded

thanks to Night I am what I’ve become
the silence of burden no longer in my hands
so long the feeling of being numb
because my life is what Night wished it commands

braver than any childhood scarring
the warrior stands in front of Night, ready for battle
ready for a strong sparring
and I’ll leave Night battered and scattered

appreciate the night for all of the aches
for it is what causes the shine of the day
despite all of the internal quakes
it is I who will always stay
